The Nardio Review
Is it worth your time?
What should I play it on?
Avoid Manga Runner. I played it on my iPad 2 and it was just horrible.
What did you think without spoiling it?
Manga Runner is a broken endless runner that seems exists soley to show you ads upon your many, many deaths thanks to broken game mechanics. It has an interesting hand drawn look that helps it stand out, unfortunately that’s where the praise ends. The rest of the game is just bad. If you are looking for an endless runner there are others out there. I honestly can’t understand at all how this mess was approved for release on the App Store.
DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS.
How does it play?
Unbelievably badly. You often start the game by falling into a pit or enemies and just die. This happens very often. If you didn’t get slapped in the face with an ad immediately afterward it would be funny. But it’s not. If and when you survive starting the game you soon find that this is one of those endless runners that has plenty of unavoidable enemies and pit falls. The non responsive controls don’t help matters. The only things that seems to work right are the ads and the music.
It’s sad because the animation is actually cute. Had there been actual testing done or maybe some better programming, I’d be all about this game. But as is, its just wasted potential.
Why it fails:
Manga Runner seems to just have been created for ads. I just can’t believe some companies actually paid to have advertising on this mess. I guess applying for advertising on your app must be really simple. It doesn’t makes sense to me that the people paying to have their ads on here didn’t test the game and see how bad it is. I wouldn’t want to advertise on a broken game. I can’t imagine anyone took the time to test this, let alone play it…
