    Nardio Manga Review

IS The Demon Prince of Momochi House Volume 3 WORTH YOUR TIME?

    Yes.

WHAT DID I THINK WITHOUT SPOILING IT?

First off if you haven’t yet, go read our spoiler free reviews of volumes one and two then decide if this is for you.

The Demon Prince of Momochi House Volume 3 starts off with some good tension thanks to the last volume’s cliffhanger. While the story doesn’t get as dark as I had hoped or imagined, it was still entertaining. The story in question resolves nicely and yet still leaves the door open for more to come from it. The rest of the volume then moves on into some very different, but still very entertaining adventures that help flesh out the world of the many Ayakashi inhabiting the household. It gets a little bit darker, but never goes to far. Like most light hearted fantasy manga The Demon Prince of Momochi House feels like it treads the water of a lot of the darker stories it’s inspired by, while leaving out the gloom.

Himari does more this chapter which is very welcome. I was worried that she would just be the manga’s damsel in distress, but she has stepped up a bit and has become very helpful part of the household. Aoi and the rest of the residents also get a bit more time to shine here and there so overall I am happy with the character growth we have been getting.

The art just keeps getting better and better. I love the style and it never disappoints me. I would love to see more two page spreads from the author/artist because she does them so darn well. I really, really hope I get to see some cosplayers this year who do the cast of Momochi house as a group cosplay. I would love them. I’m sure they would be really detailed and pretty.

I am officially hooked on The Demon Prince of Momochi House series. The volumes always seem to end in an interesting way that just forces me to rush off and buy the next volume and the story is really interesting. The characters have been getting some good bits of backstory and character growth, all the while not forcing the story to drag on. This is a great relaxing read that I see myself being invested in for a long time.
