Nardio Photography Adventures
I’ve always wanted to do long exposures.
Something about them always seemed really cool, but also could be boring if you shot the wrong subject or did it at the wrong time. For ages I would try but it never came out right because I didn’t own any ND filters or remembered to bring a tripod. Then, even with a tripod it was never quite right. It wasn’t until recently when I bought some cheap ND filters did it actually start to work.
I have to say, it’s been a hoot.
Now, doing this in NYC, you would think that I’d get tons of easy night shots.
Not so.
The traffic in the city is pretty bad and most of the streets are boring. This makes scouting and testing a must. The other big problem is the people. Yup, expect to have people walk right in front of the camera and well, it can add to the pictures or it can make it a complete bust. Never before have ffiteen or thirty seconds felt so long. That said, when a shot comes out great, it feels all the more awesome.
Check out today’s picture as well as some BTS shots showing the original crop and before and after edits:
I look forward to sharing more shots like this with you. I hope you like it.
