The Nardio Review
Is it Worth Your Time?
What Should I Play it On?
Fish Out Of Water is a universal app for iOS 5.0 or later. I have this on my iPhone and iPad and play the heck out of both.
What Did You Think Without Spoiling it?
Fish Out Of Water is seriously great fun. The best way I can describe this game is “Silently Addicting.” You don’t even notice that you are addicted until you find you just don’t want to shut your device off. This game can be played for 30 seconds to a half hour straight. It’s perfect for when you are waiting on the elevator or your habitually late girlfriend.
Best of all Fish Out Of Water is totally free!
All you do in game is skip three fish of your choosing across the water to receive a score from the crab judges. Each crab judge has their own personal quirks: some give higher scores for distance while others are more likely to give bad scores when it is rainy weather. It sounds kinda boring but it’s really fun. Give Halfbrick’s latest game a try.
How Does it Play?
Perfectly. Each fish has their own unique use and some are better for certain weather conditions than others. A huge part of the fun of Fish Out Of Water is learning how to use the fish, when to use the boost for each fish and learning when to use the boosts. As much as you can over think each toss you can easily just shut your mind off, fling away and hope.
Occasionally, there is a little lag on my iPad 2 but not enough to ruin the game experience in any way.
Why it Works:
As far as I have noticed, Fish Out Of Water was released with almost no problems except for the occasional lag. Thankfully, the lag doesn’t take away from the fun. The game has no real point besides beating your scores. You don’t have to participate in the leaderboards at all. Heck, you don’t even need to care about the score. Just have fun and skip your fish as much as you want. There are objectives you can do that help you level up. Each time you level you unlock a new comic panel which tells the story of the game. You also get the chance to get special gems that when combined give you a temporary boost. You can also buy the gems if you so choose, but there’s no pressure from half-brick to purchase these in-app purchases.
