Little Amazon. I played it on my iPad 2 and it wasn’t worth my time. It’s definitely not worth yours.
What did you think without spoiling it?
Little Amazon would have been a fun endless platformer if the developer didn’t get greedy making the game all but demand in app purchases. You start off playing in a bright and vibrant world with a character that’s all but useless. You have to masochistically die over and over again earning gold to get your basic jump “skill” upgraded. You are then greeted with areas that demand that you have the double jump ability. That only cost another 10k gold in game. And then you find our your double jump is all but useless. To upgrade that a bit is another 9k gold. Sure you can grind it out in game. But it’s just not worth it. The levels are designed for you to fail. Many paths you take just require you to have fully upgraded power ups to get through that would cost you tens of thousands of coins. The final slap in the face is the controls just don’t respond when you need them to.
Avoid Little Amazon. It’s free but not worth it at all. It’s just a broken money grab in a cute outfit.
Don’t expect to get enough of those coins just by running sweetie.
How does it play?
Little Amazon looks great, the music is nice. There is a cute story going on to. It also tends to crash, a lot. Unfortunately, there are too many cons attached to this game and seemingly by design. The controls are horrible and the game is too focused on in app purchases. If you want a great free platformer I wholeheartedly recommend Don’t Run with a Plasma Sword.
As is, little Amazon is just a frustrating waste of space that doesn’t deserve to be on your iOS device.
Why it fails:
Little Amazon is another sad, frustrating example of Freemium gone mad. This could have been a fun game. You see the potential there, and that’s what makes Little Amazon so frustrating. I wanted to like this game, but there is so much wrong with it I seriously wonder why Apple is featuring it. It’s a pay-as-you-go fail job that should be avoided at all costs.
