Today’s cute of the day are some chincillas taking a dust bath. Yes, these little guys don’t actually need to be washed in the water as their dense fur prevents air-drying. The dust baths simulate the fine volcanic rocks that wild Chinchillas bathe in ofter in their native home in the Andes. My first experience with a chinchilla was at a petting zoo and all I remember was that they were super soft. They’re also pretty cute. These two baby Chinchillas either want to get a bath too or they’re just super nosy and want to see what their mom is doing. Geez, kids, give mom a little privacy!

If you plan on having one as a pet keep an eye on them as they are known to be excellent escape artists.
