Today’s cute of the day is this cute little water bear (scientifically known as a tardigrade) walking around. These little micro-organisms are probably the cutest alive. But don’t be deceived by it’s gummy bear looks, they’re also the toughest animals on the earth. They can withstand the vacuum of space and several years without water. The trick behind this is that these little guys go into what is known as cryptobiosis. Basically they lower their metabolism to less than 0.01% of normal and their water content can drop to 1% of normal. And yes, there is a plushie for them (though it’s currently sold out you might be able to request it!). Thanks to my sis for letting me know about the cute micro-world!
