The Nardio Review

Floors Escape start screen

Is It Worth Your Time?

If you like escape-the-room type games then yes.

What Should I Play it On?

Floors Escape is available for the Android OS. With all the little details hidden in the room, you’ll want at least a 7″. I played on my Nexus 7.

What Did You Think Without Spoiling It?

Of all the escape-the-room type games, Floors Escape is perhaps one of the better, more thought out ones available for free on Android. As you progress through the game, some levels are definitely a little harder than others, but given a little time and a lot of tapping on the screen, you can eventually figure it out.

How Does it Play?

Search the room for clues to escape!

Let me preface this by saying I LOVE escape-the-room games. There’s something intrinsically fun about finding clues and figuring out what they mean and how they relate to your situation. Floors Escape, like many other games within this genre, is fairly simple in terms of mechanics. You simply tap on various objects on the screen that look important. You will find various clues that will help you find objects or find codes to help you get out of the room. There’s no lag whatsoever here and the touch sensor works perfectly.

Why it Works

It’s a simple game that forces you to pay attention, remember the order of things and use your brain. There’s no storyline here and the graphics certainly are not as impressive as The Room (which I also loved), but it’s a good solid game. Now, I’m not ragging on the graphics, they’re actually quite impressive compared to other games within this genre that are available in the Google Play store. Did I mention that it’s free? Every level gets a little bit harder to escape thanks to more rooms to explore as well as more hints to find. It’s a pretty basic game that will keep you busy for at least an hour. If you don’t have an entire hour to devote to this game, you can always go back and pick up at the level where you stopped playing. The game auto-saves every time you complete a level so you don’t ever have to go back and start from the beginning.

No Like?

Floors Escape end

That’s, the end. Game over man. Game over.

It’s so short! Currently there are only 9 levels available. Since these games have more or less no replay value, you pretty much have nothing to do after you have completed floor 9. There’s also zero story here. One of the main reasons I fell in love with these types of games is because the good ones always had a sense of mystery. Why were you trapped in this room. As you progressively make your way through the game more and more of the story is unlocked. One of the main reasons I really enjoyed The Room is because of the overarching suspense. While fun, Floors Escape doesn’t offer nearly the same kind of atmosphere. When you finish all the levels, there’s no mystery solved or even a cool graphic. It’s actually a bit anticlimactic. I mean sure, I have this sense of accomplishment, but couldn’t they at least give me a scene of the character running away from said building or even some text? That being said, for a free game it’s still a lot of fun.
