Is Totes The Goat worth your time?
What should I play Totes The Goat on?
I enjoy and play this on my iPad and iPhone.
What Did We Think Without Spoiling It?
Totes The Goat might be yet another endless high score game, but it deserves to be on your iOS devices.
Totes The Goat is a fun and simple high score/time waster perfect for quick game sessions. Smart and simple swipe to move gameplay combined with small levels make this a great pick-up-and-play game. The ads aren’t intrusive and the art is adorable.
How it Plays and Why it Works:
Totes The Goat is a based around a simple, but genius idea – swipe to move your goat around the floating island/map. To move to the next level you have to land on every square. The hazards are enemies that are scattered on the island or drop in as the game goes on. Every time you clear a map you move to the next level. The controls are great and the art pops enough to keep things interesting. The game keeps the gameplay interesting by randomizing the maps. I love the unlockable characters and the words of encouragement telling me how awesome I am at the start of every level. Great swipe controls and smart randomized level design keeps the game from getting stale.
It’s obvious the developers care as well. On the Totes The Goat press page the developer behind the game gives a mini Q&A for those who care enough to read it. I cared and I really enjoyed it.
I would like it if there was an update that added a bright red flashing to the tiles that enemies are about to drop on. Unfortunately, enemies can drop down sometimes right on your head. It doesn’t happen often, but it would be nice if they were completely avoidable.
