Dawn Of War Onslaught
Dawn of War Onslaught is a new Games Workshop Warhammer 40K stand alone box game that is being sold by Target and later on Barnes and noble. These games can be sensational stand along experience or meh lazy phoned in cash grabs. It’s a toss up but at the very least for fans like myself, they are always a fun painting project.
I’ve been excited about this game for a while now because it looks like it might be something I might like. The minis included are also really cool to so I’ve been watching the online websites for this like a hawk in the hopes of getting a copy early.
Unfortunately, I didn’t….. It sold out before I knew it was out….
This hurts.

I want it. I honestly know nothing of the gameplay but it seems like some other games they’ve done before and I’m hoping this is one of the good ones while praying to god it isn’t as bad as the shit show that is Space Marine The Board Game.
I’d love to have it but Dawn of War Onslaught is sold out at EVERY Target store that I can get to and it’s sold out online. I get the feeling the scalpers are going to be hitting this listing with bots for the foreseeable future….. Why?

See those lil plastic boys? Games Workshop normally sells those tiny, tiny chunks of plastic for about $170….
I don’t understand it but that’s the going rate and crazy people are happy to pay those prices. So, when a lil box game comes out and sells them for ONLY $50 the scalpers and hardcore fans of Warhammer 40k go nuts…. That leaves actual board gamers like us shit outta luck….

I just hope at the end of the day this game is amazing. I love the idea of a new game to solo and hopefully play with jas. That said, last time a game like this was released and the scalpers and fans were going crazy for it, it took MONTHS for it to finally show up reliably at retail….
Looks like I’ll be waiting a while longer.
