The Nardio Review

Sunshine Acres

Is It Worth Your Time?

Yes. For $0.99 Sunshine Acres gives you hours of entertainment.

What Should I Play it On

Sunshine Acres is available for the iPod, iPhone and iPad. As always I prefer playing on my iPad.

What Did You Think Without Spoiling It?

Sunshine Acres MapSunshine Acres is fun farming time management game. It is one of the few games that has no in-app purchases! There are plenty of levels to play and then to replay to get the golden alarm clock. Each level gets progressively harder, but it’s a natural progression so it never feels too cheap.

How Does it Play

Perfectly! The controls work well and the levels skate the thin line of easy and challenging. The gameplay aspect is very simple tap mechanic, but it works.

Why it Works

Sunshine Acres GameplaySunshine Acres is one of those games that has very simple game mechanics, but manages to keep each level fresh and interesting. There’s a real sense of progression with each level. You get new seeds and new upgrades for your crops and farming equipment. Pretty much every level something new unlocks. Things can get a little hectic at times and you may end up forgetting to collect crops or products. Not to worry, the crops grow pretty quickly and within a couple minutes you can regain what you lost. Later levels will introduce other things like your pet dog that drops bonuses for you. He drops several different types of bonuses: extra heart for plants, extra time and additional money (5, 10, 20). These are definitely a great help, but you can’t get something without giving something in return. In this case, you need to make sure that you feed the dog when he asks for it. Otherwise, no drops for you. If making sure your crops are healthy and your dog is fed isn’t enough, later on the game introduces sheep which will eat your crops if you don’t shoo them away. The later levels will have you doing so many things at once, that there practically isn’t any time to relax. But it never feels cheap. It never feels impossible. The best part? No in-app purchases.

No Like?

Honestly, there wasn’t much that I didn’t like. Some of the times to get Gold for the levels seems a bit difficult to achieve, but it’s really about efficient gathering.

In Closing

This is a great game and definitely worth the $0.99. I played this game for a couple hours straight and beat all the levels. Now to go back and get gold for all of them.
